  • On this day we explore the capital city of Ghana. Go on a city tour with a drive through Old Accra also called Jamestown and a visit to WEB DuBois Centre. The group will visit Black Star Gate, the second-largest independence square in the world, and Memorial Park. We will experience Ghana’s rich history and the events to the independence of Ghana, a celebration to the prominent Ghanaian President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. After lunch visit the National Centre for Arts and Crafts has a varied collection of Ghanaian hand-crafted items on sale. Here you will have the opportunity to try your bargaining skills to shop in an open-air market. Shop for family and friends back home. Participate in a drumming a lesson with your instructor. Learn how to play the djembe drums with some Ghanaian drum patterns.

  • After breakfast, start your day with an early morning worship at a local church service where you get to experience the powerful music and praise of Ghanaian Sunday church. After Service visit a Ghanaian home where you will get a hands-on cooking lesson and master the art of preparing traditional Ghanaian dishes—from rich stews to flavorful jollof rice, plantains among other. This day offers a taste of our vibrant faith and rich culinary heritage.

  • Depart to visit one of the biggest outdoor museums in Ghana. It is situated on several acres of land in Ada and its name is derived from the Akan Adinkra symbol, the Nkyinkim symbol, which means Twist and Turns. The museum is an evolving art installation/monument of sculptured pieces, portraying the story of African slave trade and the resilience of our ancestors.
  • After continue to the Aqua Safari Resort where you get to go on scenic river ride to explore rare red and white mangroves to the Crocodile Island, cruising past canoes and fishing boats from the neighboring villages in Ada.
  • Return to Accra

  • Depart Kumasi for Cape Coast in the Central Region. Drive through the forest and several farming villages. Stop en route to visit Assin Manso, burial site of the remains of the two ancestors exhumed from New York’s Wall Street and Jamaica Kingston and re-interred on the Emancipation Day 1998. Visit the “Slave River” where enslaved Africans were allowed to have their bath in preparation for auction at the nearby slave market.
  • Visit the Cape Coast Castle which was originally started by the Swedes in 1652. It served as the headquarters and seat of the British colonial government until 1877. Go on a comprehensive tour of the Castle, the Slave Dungeons and the West African Heritage Museum.
  • Return to your hotel.

Accommodation: Beach Hotel in Elmina.

  • After breakfast visit the Elmina Castle, the first and oldest European structure built of any substance on African soil. This was built by the Portuguese in1482 and later used as an auction market for a comprehensive guided tour. See the slave dungeons and condemn cells where slave who attempted to escape were incarcerated. View its utterly distinct architecture.
  • After proceed to participate in a traditional Ghanaian naming ceremony. Pay a curtsey call on the Chief and elders in the palace where participants will be given Ghanaian names with attributes. It would be interesting to compare your given attributes to your name.
  • After lunch visit.
  • Return to your hotel.

  • Checkout and proceed to Accra driving along several fishing communities and coconut lined beaches.
  • Arrive in Accra and embark on a community give back initiative. Through the GUBA Foundation, we will the group to do a strategic give back to either a school, hospital or an orphanage where their needs will be met with your assistance.
  • After continue to your hotel and check -in.
  • Return to your hotel.

  • Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and embark on a blissful journey to a serene beach and enjoy a sunset beachside breeze Massage.

  • Optional: Book a photoshoot session where you will have a make-up artiste and dressed in traditional royal regalia for a photoshoot session.
  • Rest of evening free to enjoy nightlife in Accra on your own.
